SSI - Service Science & Innovation is the department of CRP Henri Tudor dealing with the innovation challenges faced by the service intensive Luxembourg economy. Answers to these challenges are articulated around :

  • A multi-disciplinary perspective centered on the competences existing in units and developed in two technology fields covered at CRP Henri Tudor: Business organisation and Management, and Information and Communication Technologies
  • A scientific and rigorous approach, associated with the new domain of service science.

SSI was born in March 2010 and is the result from the merge of two departments of CRP Henri Tudor: Centre d’Innovation par les Technologies de l’Information -CITI- and Laboratoire de Technologies Industrielles - LTI.

What is the SSI mission regarding services innovation ?

Acquiring and developing the required knowledge through research projects related to:
  • People: skills and competences for service innovation management
  • Process: management of a suitable service innovation process
  • Systems: engineering and management of services systems architectures
with the objectives of:
  • transferring this knowledge to private companies, public organizations, entrepreneurs , SME willing to innovate their services
  • co-designing innovative services in a public/private bilateral or network partneship.

The approach

SSI acts as a living lab supporting experimentation and validation cycle where the research in service science inspires innovative services within a multi-sector approach, and where the experimentation of these innovative services feeds the service science research agenda.
